Titles, etc.
 
Sifu (Shirfu):  A respectful term to address someone of high skill or experience in a profession  or "hand arts" (martial arts, painting, sculpting, etc). Nowadays, it is used to denote the chief instructor or owner of a martial arts school.
 
Laoshi:   A general term for "teacher", in any skill.
 
Liao Jian:   Coach
 
Shi Xiong:  Senior classmate (male)
 
Shi Jie:   Senior classmate (female)
 
Shi Di:   Junior classmate (male)
 
Shi Mei:  Junior classmate (female)
 
Shi Buo:  Your teacher's senior classmate
 
Shi Shu:  Your teacher's junior classmate
 
Guan ("Gwoon")   School,  place of learning martial arts
 
 
 
Hand Skills:
 
Quan:    Fist

Zhang:   Palm 

Fan You:    Body Turn

Wu lun pan da / lun bi:   Wheel Arms Slap Ground (arm Circles)

Za quan:    Hammerfist (back Of Fist)

Pi quan:  Hammerfist (underside Of Fist)

Gou (Gou shou):  Hook Hand

Chuan zhang:    Push Palms 

Chong Chuan:   Front Punch   (not to be confused with "Chang Chuan" (long fist)
 
 
Leg Skills-Kicking

Dan pai jiao:   Front Slapping Leg Raise

Li he tui:    Inside Crescent

Wai bai tui:   Outside Crescent

Ji bu:   Skip Step

Zheng ti tui:   Leg Raise / Front Stretch Kick

Deng tui:  Heel Kick

Tan tui:   Toe Kick

Ce ti tui:  Side Leg (stretch) Kick

Chuai jiao: Side (thrust) Kick

Hao sao tui:   Back Sweep

Qian sao tui:   Front Sweep

Zhen jiao: Stomp

Ma bu:    Horse Stance

Gong bu:   Bow Stance 

Xu  bu:    Cat Stance / Empty Stance

Xie bu: Seated (Crossed) Stance

Cha Bu:   Cross Bow Stance

Zuo pan:  Sitting Coil Stance

Pu bu:   Drop Stance  (crouching stance)

Pi cha:   Front Splits

Bing bu:   Ready Position

Ding Bu:   T Step

Yang ci ping heng:  Swallow Balance
 
 
 
Jumps-Aerial kicks
 
Xuan feng jiao:  Jumping Inside (whirlwind kick)

Tong kong wai bai lien:   Jumping Outside (Lotus kick)

Tong kong fei jiao:  Jumping Front

Xuan zi:   Butterfly

Ce kong fan:   aerial (cartwheel)

San bai liu / xuan zi xuan ti:    360 / Butterfly Twist

Qi bai er:    720  (butterfly twist)
